Personalized classical Pilates for total wellness and strength
Personalized classical Pilates for total wellness and strength

With over a decade of experience, Laura Jayne Pilates offers personalized private lessons in a tranquil home studio. Specializing in classical apparatus using Gratz equipment, our sessions focus on enhancing overall wellness by integrating body, mind, and spirit. Whether you're seeking to improve flexibility, strength, or recovery, individual attention ensures optimal results.
Movement has always been an important part of Laura’s life. After earning her B.F.A. in Dance Performance from the University of the Arts, she performed as a Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleader and in productions throughout Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and New York City.
Laura discovered her passion for teaching after becoming a certified Pure Barre instructor in Los Angeles. Inspired by the physical and mental transformations she witnessed in her clients, she wanted to provide more personalized support for each individual’s unique goals and needs. This desire to make a meaningful difference ultimately led her to classical Pilates.
Laura earned her Beginner and Intermediate Mat certifications in 2015 and completed Power Pilates’ 600-hour Comprehensive certification in 2017. During her apprenticeship, she trained under mentors Aubrey Johnson at Moxie Mind & Body Studio in Pittsburgh and Gina Heysek at Pure Pilates in Lancaster. She later taught at her former studio, The Pilates Swan, and EmJ Pilates in the Reading area. Laura remains committed to continuing education and consistently expanding her knowledge of classical Pilates.
Laura teaches the classical Pilates method as a complete, interconnected system—just as Joseph Pilates intended. Private sessions may incorporate the Mat, Reformer, Chair, Cadillac, additional apparatus, and small props such as the Magic Circle, Spine Corrector, Small Barrel, Ladder Barrel, Foot Corrector, and Toe Exerciser.
Every lesson is thoughtfully tailored to the individual client’s body, experience, needs, and goals. By working one-on-one, Laura provides focused attention and personalized guidance to help each client build strength, improve mobility, and move with greater confidence.
Joseph Pilates created an intelligent and highly intentional system of movement that he called Contrology, known today as Pilates. More than a collection of exercises, the classical method is a thoughtfully designed system in which the Mat and specialized apparatus work together to develop the body as an integrated whole. Each exercise builds upon the next, creating greater strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, posture, and body awareness. By preserving Joseph Pilates’ original principles, sequencing, and purpose, Classical Pilates offers a precise and personalized approach that goes far beyond a fitness trend—it teaches you how to move with greater control, efficiency, and confidence in everything you do.
“In 10 sessions, you’ll feel the difference. In 20 sessions, you’ll see the difference. And in 30 sessions, you’ll have a whole new body.”
— Joseph Pilates
